We'd like to let you know that here is a raffle to raise funds for a defibrillator for the local First Responders team.
When a person suffers a cardiac arrest they lose consciousness in a matter of seconds. Unless someone applies a defibrillator within three to four minutes, the person is unlikely to survive.
People nearby can extend this period by performing CPR but Community First Responders living in the neighbourhood and trained to use an AED can often arrive on scene in time to save the persons life.
Community First Responder volunteers are trained to attend emergency calls received by the ambulance service and provide care until the ambulance arrives. Volunteers can arrive at an emergency scene in a matter of minutes, as they are sent to calls in their local area.
