"This was our second stay at Limefitt but our first in Troutbeck View. The lodge is a real home from home with everything we needed and very spacious. We haven't had great weather but still braved the rain and went on some good walks. We can recommend the Queens Head for food. We also ate at the Haybarn which was basic but still good and handy as only a short walk or "stumble" away. We are already talking about next year and can't wait to come back thank you." December 2011
"We have had a lovely time staying in the lodge. Thank you! I think the lodge has everything you could need for a great holiday. It really is a home from home! Unfortunately the weather hasn't been quite as nice but we plan to come back again next year to try again! Thank you." December 2011
" Steve, Paul and Oscar too,
came again to Troutbeck View.
It rained this time, what a shame,
but never mind, didn't spoil our game!
Field, pool, walkies, food,
put Oscar in a real good mood.
Wine, dine, relax and chill,
Steve and Paula had their fill.
Trip to Brock Hole, play in the lake,
cup of tea and piece of cake.
Ullswater next, Kirkstone pass,
superb lunch, we had a blast!
"Home from home", the guests all say,
we agree, and if we may
Thanks John and Linda, without whom
we never would have "shot the moon"
We'll be back, I'm sure of that,
so keep brushed off the welcome mat.
Places to go and people to see
more fun for Oscar Steve and me! :-)"
"What a wonderful treat to stay in such a beautiful lodge and area. had the most fantastic time. We will tell everyone. Hope to see you soon." November 2011
"Our second stay in the lodge and another fantastic break – thank you. We loved the walks, the dog friendly pubs and had two lovely meals at the Queens Head. The lodge was warm and cosy to come back to after our daily tracks! I have no doubt will be back in 2012" October 2011
"This was our first visit to the Lake District and we have had a fabulous weekend – especially as the weather has been beautiful! The lodge was just perfect – very comfortable and extremely well-equipped. The beds were also very comfortable. We love the decor and all the fixtures and fittings – all to a very high standard! We have had lots of beautiful walks and also lovely boat trips on Lake Windermere. We also love the local pub – The Mortal Man and have had two excellent meals there and enjoyed sampling the local beers and cheese. Thank you for the lovely accommodation. We all hope to come here again next year :-)" October 2011
"We had a lovely week despite so much rain! A very well-equipped lodge with everything we needed and as everyone else has said the Haybarn does good basic food. We had a excellent meal in the Mortal Man. We managed to walk to Ing Bridge, Orrest Head and Wansell Pike all from the Lodge introducing a 10-month-old Labrador to fell walking for the first time! Line fit is a lovely peaceful location with easy access to the Southern Lakes. I am sure we will return in the future as we visit the lakes at least once a year" October 2011
"What a fantastic lodge – first-class accommodation with everything you need. Customer service from John Hobson excellent. There was a problem with original logbook and we were given Troutbeck view. Can't thank him enough. What a beautiful part of the country plenty of places to visit/walks to go on – our dog loved it just like us. We will certainly be back in the future." September 2011
"Second time for those here in Limefitt but first in your magnificent lodge. We found all we could possibly need, cot and highchair were greatly appreciated by our baby girl, beds are really very comfy! We had great walks in the mountains surrounding the lodge. Hope we'll be back soon!" September 2011
"Another great week – lots of different weather – hurricane, rain and lovely sunshine! Did new walks each day despite the weather. As usual, lodge fantastic – just like being at home. This is our third year here and going home to book for next year. We will have a dog next year which should be different and fun!" September 2011
"Weather could have been much better. Rain, rain and more rain but if you love The Lakes you look past the rain. We took a trip to Ullswater/Aira Force what a great afternoon out. Magnificent waterfalls. This is our third visit to Limefitt and it will not be the last I'm sure. Troutbeck View is a great home from home cabin. Had a lovely stress free rest. Enjoyed by us all" September 2011
"Our whole family had a great time!!! The lodge was fantastic with everything in it we could have wished for. We are sad to be going home, but we will be back next year or even sooner!!! Many thanks." September 2011

"The lodge is really cool, the beds are super comfy but it gets really hot in the night, the PlayStation could do with another controller. [done J&L] The River Pool is really cold but fun. South Lakes animal Park busy but worth it. Sometimes wish the lodge was my house" - August 2011
"Riverpool is really fun but really cold! The park is also good especially the zip wire. The lodge is really nice. The PlayStation is good as well but could do with another controller (see above J&L). Beds are really comfy. South Lakes Animal Park is a good place to go and Keswick is a good place to go on the water bus. Really fun! We will be back soon" August 2011
"Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful lodge. We think it's the nicest lodge in Limefitt! It has been a fantastic first holiday for our wee family and has been ideal for our 22-month-old daughter who has been able to roam around on the decking. Others have mentioned in this book that it is "home from home" and how true that is. The lodge has everything we could possibly need. Windermere is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed Bowness on Windermere – Abby loved the swans and ducks! Seafarers fish and chip shop was yummy! Beatrix Potter Attraction and Grasmere gingerbread shop is a must. South Lakes Wild Animal Park is also worth a visit. Got to feed and pet the giraffes! We will definitely be back and hopefully stay longer next time." July 2011
"Lovely cabin – well-equipped. Super position. " July 2011
"A wonderful new experience. Lovely, clean and well equipped cabin. Plenty relaxation and peace. Hope to see you soon." July 2011
"Had a lovely time during our first visit to the Lake District. Lovely, homely lodge with everything we needed. Our dogs had a ball! The balcony outside was a godsend! Home-made chicken and ham pie at the Haybarn was delicious! (+ Sky TV)! The Grasmere gingerbread shop is a must! William Wordsworth's grave next to shop. Delightful country village. We are all going home fitter after enjoying the country and wonderful walks taking in the scenery that was truly breathtaking! Hope whoever is reading this will enjoy their stay as much as we have." July 2011
"We have had brill stay in the lovely log cabin. By far the best we have stayed in. Visited some lovely places. Cannot wait to return sometime soon." July 2011
"What a fantastic place, could quite happily move in permanently. Built a dam in the river near the play area. Hope to come back soon finish it! Very dog and child friendly and can recommend the scampi and chips up out of the Haybarn!" July 2011

"Had an amazing weekend and could not have asked for nicer accommodation. Your lodge is beautiful and so comfortable. Just wish we could stay longer! The weather has been perfect. Really hot all weekend and we've done loads in the short time here. Lake cruise, steam train, aquarium and the kids have loved playing in the park and the dogs have had a great time in the countryside too! I will be highly recommending your lodge and the park to all friends and family and will definitely be back again." July 2011

"Had a lovely visit to the Lakes. The lodge is very spacious and beautifully decorated. The beds are a great size and so comfortable. We had some lovely days out in Bowness and would recommend Shepherd's boat hire - it was a great way to explore the lake and admire the views. The on-site adventure playground is fab and we couldn't keep our 2-year-old away – she loved it! This is our third visit to Limefitt in one of your wonderful lodges and it won't be the last." June 2011
"Another fantastic week in the Lakes! Loved staying in a bigger lodge this time and as usual everything we needed was here! Brought our friends with us this time and it was great to share our days out and walks with them. Walked about 50 miles and visited all our fave places. Great food at Mortal Man and Queens Head! Looking forward to coming back in September." June 2011
" Our first time in the Lake District. Lodge and walks far exceeded our expectations. Company excellent (Hope we get invited again!)." June 2011
"Perfect location and perfect accommodation! It's so nice to find such a beautiful and modern lodge that welcomes children and dogs. We recommend a visit to Brockhole visitor centre which is 5 minutes away. It has beautiful views of Windermere, a big outdoor play area and woodland walks. Oh and it's free and dogs welcome! Hawkshead is also worth a visit but watch out for coaches on the thin roads. We got stuck in traffic while one tried to squeeze up past cars. We ate local produce and ales every day either in the lodge or in pubs/cafes and can honestly say it's some of the best we've tried. We definitely will be back soon." May 2011
"What a wonderful lodge this is our second year here at line fit. Our previous state was in to lodge. Cannot thank John and Linda enough for making our stay that extra bit special. We will be back next year." May 2011
