Hi - So what IS Twitter?
Like many "social networking" ideas, you have to be in it to start to understand why it it works.
Twitter is basically "a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length." (Wikipedia)
So what does that mean? Well on a mundane level it means I can tell you that I'm washing my socks, or that I just ate toast for breakfast.
On a more interesting level it means that I get a constant stream of snippets of information which makes me feel like some sort of cyber-whale swimming through a cloud of information krill. I can also share some of this with you
So much stuff to read - so little time! But it IS exciting and it's amazingly useful at times.
Now I just need to find a Twitter filter.
